Meat from Traditional Foods
We've arranged to handle orders of meat through Traditional Foods - a group of small family farmers from the Old Order Mennonite tradition who grow beef, pork, lamb & chicken. Here are the order forms & brochure. The PDF forms can be printed out, filled out, and submitted, or you can take advantage of our online order form.
The meat is not certified organic, but in many ways moves beyond the requirements of organic certification. All products are free of GMOs, hormones, antibiotics & all synthetic veterinary drugs. The livestock are fed natural feed (grass, hay, corn silage & other grains) along with organic mineral supplements to ensure that the meat is of particularly high nutrient value. They are raised humanely & processed in small abatoirs. Animals are at times fed grains which are not grown organically, which is one of the reasons the farms don't certify.
Meat can be ordered as quarters, sides or boxed cuts. Maple Syrup is also available. Please refer to the order forms for prices & product descriptions. We are open to receiving orders from non-members, as long as they are able to pick their meat up between 3:30 & 6:00 on the scheduled delivery days. (We don't have the ability to hold meat for people overnight in a freezer.)
THE FIRST ORDER IS DUE WEDNESDAY, JULY 9TH & will be available for pick-up the following Tuesday July 15th when you come for your CSA share. Payment due the day of delivery. The summer schedule is as follows:
| Order Due | Pick-Up |
